The Sparta Herald May 5, 2008 ROSELLA M. "ROSE" BOOKS
She was born April 16, 1951, in Sparta to Louis and Lillian (Johnson) Livangood. On September 6, 2003, she married Donald Books and he preceded her in death in 2004. Rose spent a lot of time sitting in her backyard enjoying her pond and flowers that she grew and loved, especially when it was a nice, sunny day. Her family was very special to her, and she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include six children, Tracy (Richard Sr.) Dockerty of Cashton, Robin (Rosendo) Olvera of Sparta, Gretchen (Stacy) of Milwaukee, and Danielle Lambert, Ryan Flood, and Darsta Chitek, all of Sparta; 15 grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, John, Karanda, Richard Jr., Trent, Courtney, Bobbie Jo, Selena, Sasha, Bianca, Dominic, Santana, Leo, and McKinzie; and grandson, Presten, on the way; three great-grandchildren, Chance, Carter, and Tristan; her father, Louis Livangood of Sparta; five brothers and sisters, Bobby Livangood of Coon Valley, Rosalie Guderjohn of Waupaca, Jerry (Terry) Livangood of Tacoma, Wash., and Tommy (LaVonne) Livangood and Patty Livangood, both of Sparta; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian. In accordance with her wishes, Rose's body will be cremated and there
will be no services. Jostad-Jandt Funeral Home, West Salem, is in charge
of the arrangements.
Monroe County Democrat May 8, 2008 VERNON W. CROUCH
He was born on Aug. 26, 1934 in Wilton, to Willis and Mabel (Ferris) Crouch. He grew up in the Wilton and Tomah area. Vernon married the former Carol Miller on April 28, 1960 in Waukegan, IL. After marriage they lived in Waukesha, Kenosha, and Racine. They moved to Lynden Station in 1970. They lived in Tomah, and then moved to Sparta. Vernon worked as a wood cutter in the area. He is survived by his wife, Carol of Sparta; four children, Vernon (Pamela) Crouch of Sparta, Carol Ann Crouch of Cashton, Timothy Crouch and Juanita (Ronald) Von Ruden, both of Sparta; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Crouch and Willis (Mary) Crouch, both of Tomah; and three sisters, Louise Degler of DeForest, Julia Colgate of Junction City, KS, and Ruth Grutzmacher of Tomah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Mabel; and a brother, Chester. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral

ORVILLE EVENSON
He was born July 1, 1910 in the Town of Wells, Monroe County, to Oscar, a/k/a Carl, Evenson and Emelia Larson Evenson. He had five sisters, Verna Wolf of Prescott, Alma Beichel of St. Louis, MO, Mabel Peterson of Hebron, IL, Cora Van Holt of Long Beach, CA and Ardis Simon of Prescott. Following the death of his mother in 1916, Orville later became the foster child of Dr. and Mrs. Spencer Beebe of Sparta, now deceased. His Sparta family included many foster siblings, now deceased, and he is survived by many nieces and nephews in the Sparta and La Crosse areas. Orvie, as he was often known, graduated from Sparta High School in 1928, and from UW-Platteville, in 1934. He was an employee of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in Madison from 1936 until his retirement in 1973. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking and tinker-ing. But most of all, he was a master at telling jokes and will be remembered for his sense of humor and lightheartedness. His is survived by three daughters from his marriage to Bernice Lundberg, who passed away in 1970. They are Annetta Oliver of Simi Valley, CA and stepdaughters Elizabeth Derlein of Green Valley, AZ and Joan Ernst of Lac du Flambeau. He is also survived by 12 grand-children and 14 great-grand-children. Orville later married Joyce Kovacs of Madison. They moved to Port Charlotte, FL in 1980. Following her death in 2001, he moved back to his hometown of Sparta where he resided at Parkview Apartments, Morrow Memorial Home, until early March 2008. A memorial service will be held on July 1, at Roselawn Memorial Park
in Madison, to celebrate his life of almost 98 years.
TERESA V. FLOCK
Mrs. Flock was born Feb. 17, 1933, to the Vernon and Evelyn Janusheske in Sparta. She married Clair Flock and was a loyal Navy wife. She was a lifelong member of the Green-Gifford Motor Corp family with over 43 years of dedicated service. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving wife, mother, grand-mother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Betsy (Bob) Middlebrooks of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers, Gabriel Janusheske and Donald (Ann) Janusheske, both of Wisconsin; one sister, Judith (LaVern) Pottinger of Wisconsin; two granddaughters, Debi (Chris) Tysor and Lisa (Joshuah) Huepenbecker, both of Chesa-peake; and her dog, ìLil Bitî. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair; her parents, Vernon and Evelyn; one brother, Ronald Janusheske; and one sister, Delores Tronick. ARLENE M. HAYES
Arlene was born March 16, 1932, in Sparta, to William and Anna (Meissner) Ebert. She moved to Milwaukee in 1951, where she met the love of her life, Willard Hayes. They were married on Sept. 13, 1952, after his military service in Korea. After raising their family, the couple enjoyed their retirement with many dear friends in Arizona. Arlene is survived by her husband of 55 years, Willard "Bill" Hayes; six children, Jean (Michael) Bowe, Alan (Mary Lou), Debra (Stanley) Stoneking, Barbara (Robert) LePine, William (Joan) and Mary (David) Berg; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Annabelle Sharp; three bro-thers, Harvey (Lorraine) Ebert, Merlin (Ruth) Ebert and Roger (Ellie) Ebert; many other loving family members and friends. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 9, from 4-6 p.m. at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35 W23360 Capitol Dr., Pewaukee, with a service at 6 p.m. The family wishes to express its gratitude to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice for the love and care given to Arlene. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the ALS Society would be appreciated.
CLIFFORD O. NENZEL
Clifford was born on the family farm in Norwalk, May 30, 1918, the son of Henry and Emma (Foth) Nenzel. He attended Norwalk schools, graduating in 1936. He worked on the Alvin Noth farm until 1939. He then attended Platteville College from 1939-1943, re-ceiving his Bachelor's Degree in vocational agriculture. He had nearly enough credits for his Master's Degree by the time he retired. In 1943, Clifford entered the U.S. Navy at Notre Dame. After his discharge he worked as a milkman in Waukesha. Clifford was united in marriage to Betty Jean Geary on June 12, 1948 in Curtiss. They would have cele-brated their 60th wedding anniversary in June 2008. He taught agriculture in Black River Falls for one year and from 1945-1954 taught in Bloomer. ìChiefî (a name given to him by Bob Kyle, one of his students) then taught from 1954-1981 in Stanley, a total of 37 years. He also helped out at his familyís farm in Norwalk from 1945 until it was sold in 1972. Clifford judged at county fairs for 35 years and loved to talk to kids and give them pointers on how to make their animals ìblue ribbonî winners. He was a barker for Big Oscar, the worldís largest Holstein steer, and his successors, Oscar 2 and Oscar 3, at various county and state fairs. He was superintendent of the crops building at the Northern Wisc. District Fair in Chippewa Falls for 54 years. He was also a member of the Lions, Moose, and American Legion organizations. Cliff was so very proud of his family, always carrying pictures of his kids and grandchildren in his wallet to share with every-one. He loved to reminisce about school, his family farm and just about everything. Class re-unions were also vital to him, catching up with students about their lives. His philosophy on teaching "Say what you mean, mean what you say, and treat everyone equal". He is survived by his wife, Betty of Stanley; his three daughters, Sandra (Konrad) Thorson of Tomahawk, Sharon (Paul) Stoll of Bloomer and Susan (Frank) Foiles of Cadott; six grandchildren, Jessica (Tyler) Fleig, Kelly Clifford Foster, Kristin Foster, Jamison Nenzel Thorson, and Derek and Brent Foiles; and one great-grandchild, Henry Konrad Fleig. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Emma; and one brother, Orville. Services will be held Friday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at Our Saviorís Lutheran Church, Stanley, with Pastor Linda Dutton officiating. Burial will follow in the Ever-green Cemetery, Stanley. Friends and family may call on Thursday (today) from 4-8 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, and one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday morning. EDWARD E. TELETZKE
He was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Columbus, to Emil and Sena (Thiel) Teletzke. He grew up around the Columbus and Beaver Dam areas. He served in the U.S. Navy from May 28, 1943 until being discharged on Dec. 26, 1945. Edward married the former Dorothy M. Motta on May 21, 1945, in Newport, RI. After their marriage they moved to Beaver Dam. They later lived in Fox Lake and Oshkosh. They moved to Sparta in 1965. Edward worked at the Wisconsin Child Center and then Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, until he retired. He was a painter his entire working career. Edward was a member of V.F.W. Post 2112 and American Legion Post 100
in Sparta. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, on Nov. 11, 2006; a grandson, Edward Teletzke III; a great-grandson, Quinten Lind; a great-great-granddaughter, Serenity Andre-sen; his parents, Emil and Sena; four brothers, Alvin, Harry, Ervin and Wilbert; and two sisters, Clara, and Minnie. Funeral services were held Thursday (today) at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, with Rev. Matthew E. Toso officiating.
