Clark John Everson, 77, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at his home in rural Sparta.
He was born and raised on the Everson family farm; which he eventually bought with his wife and friend, Karon (Culpitt) Everson. He was a farmer of dairy, beef, and grain for 55 years.
Clark served his country through eight years of military service in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.
Clark was an avid hunter and fisherman, known as “Eagle Eye” to those who knew him best. Clark loved and enjoyed the nature that surrounded him daily. He taught his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren how to respect God and nature. He believed in Thee higher power. Clark was a man where a handshake and one’s word stood for something.
Clark is survived by his friend, Karon Everson; five children, Scott (Jackie) Everson, Shelley Everson, Sheldon (Jodi) Everson, Sonja Everson, and Stephanie Everson (Brian Clements); 14 grandchildren, Cassie (Jessie) Martin, Natasha, Tiffany, Courtney, and Tyler Everson; Nathan (Ashley), Nicole, and Nina Winistorfer; Cody and Kaylan Everson; Jordan, Josilynn, Justin, and Jade Pfaff; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Helmer and Evelyn (Stark) Everson; sisters and brother, Joyce Messmer, Gary Everson, and Alice Lafferty; and granddaughter, Amber Jane Everson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. Burial with full military honors will be in Burns Cemetery, rural Bangor.
Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
