BLACK RIVER FALLS – Jeffrey John “Bebop” Abbott, 58, of Black River Falls, died Monday, November 9, 2015, at his home.
Jeff was born November 13, 1956, in Sparta to John and Katherine (Larson) Abbott. He graduated from Sparta High School in 1974 and attended WWTC in La Crosse studying carpentry.
Jeff married Lori Oligny-Dobson on August 14, 2010 in Hatfield.
Jeff served in the US Army Intelligence for 15 years. After leaving the service he owned and operated Jeff Abbott Trucking in Arizona until 2006 when he returned to Wisconsin. At the time of his retirement in 2014, due to ill health, he was employed by Marriott Hotel in La Crosse.
In his youth he was presented his Eagle Scout Award by former Astronaut Deke Slayton. He loved spending time in the outdoors with his family, camping and fishing. Jeff enjoyed doing woodworking projects, discussing politics, visiting with people and making new friends.
Jeff is survived his wife, Lori; five children, Heidi (Aaron) Woof of Duluth, MN, Ryann Dobson of Black River Falls, Joseph Abbott of Cataract, Nicole Abbott of Omaha, NB and Christy Abbott of California; eight grandchildren, Tiffany, Summer, Chase, Ethan, Haley, Sydney, Lindsy and Lydia; parents, John and Katherine Abbott of Sparta; two brothers, Stephen (Debbie) Abbott of Tomah and Scott (Cheryl) Abbott of Backus, MN; one sister, Julie (Dennis) Storandt of Mindoro; mother-in-law, Pat Oligny of Black River Falls. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Funeral services for Jeff will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Buswell Funeral Home in Black River Falls. Rev. Terry Marg will officiate. Burial with military rites will be in Cataract Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home on Saturday.
