SHIRLEE MAE EASLEY
October 28, 1925—May 17, 2017
SPARTA - Shirlee Mae Easley passed away at the young age of 91 on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the Morrow Home in Sparta, WI.
Shirlee was born on October 28, 1925, in Marshfield, WI, the middle daughter to Fredrick (Fritz) and Anna Braem. She lost her mother at the tender age of 12-years-old.
Shirlee married Gordon Jensen in 1946 and together they started a family with their three boys, Thomas, David and Jay. Gordon passed away in 1969.
Shirlee married Raymond Easley in 1972. Shirlee loved being the step-mother to Raymond’s two children, John and Gail. Raymond passed away in 1977 due to a tough battle with cancer.
She worked at Fort McCoy for over 20 years. She loved her job in the Accounting Department and often spoke of her time there.
Shirlee was a true fighter and inspiration until the very end. For those who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life, you knew that she had an unwavering love for her family. Her three sons were her sole purpose in life. She once said, “A mother is only as happy as her saddest child.” She strived each and every day to ensure her three boys were truly happy! She also had a love for cooking, especially for her family! Her famous goulash and cheesecake recipes will carry on for generations to come!
She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Gordon Jensen and Raymond Easley; her father and mother, Frederick (Fritz) and Anna Braem; and her sister, Virgina (Ginny) Stoiber.
She is survived by her sister, Beverly (Bev) Mundt; three children, Tom (Beth) Jensen, Dave (Debbie) Jensen and Jay (Angie) Jensen; two step-children, John (Bev) Easley and Gail (Bill) Kroeger; seven grandchildren, Chris (Alice) Jensen, Andy (Monica) Jensen, Lindsey (Rob) Pearson, Morgan (Justin) Gausmann, Kyle (Sarah) Jensen, Tara Jensen and Kelly (Shane) Zahrte; two step-grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Radzak and Val (Robert) May; 10 great-grandchildren, Garret, Colleen, Lean, Sabrina, Liam, Adrian, Miles, Rylan, Jack and Wesley.
The family wants those who knew Shirlee to remember her for her sense of humor, strength, compassion and by the warmth she showed to all those who entered her home. She should also be known for her sensational sense of style as she always made sure she was “put together” at all times…even to walk to the mailbox!
She was the best daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, GG and friend to all those who were blessed to know her.
“Life is tough my darling, but so are you.”
At her request, a Memorial Service will be held for immediate family only.
