February 26, 1971—April 5, 2017
TOMAH - Susan “Susie” May (Felker) Gerke, age 46, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at her home surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous 30 year battle with kidney disease.
She was born February 26, 1971, to Jerry and Elaine (Deford) Felker in Greendale, WI. Susie was united in marriage to Delbert Gerke on June 14, 2003, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tomah.
She took great pride in the fact she was crowned Cranberry Princess in the Warrens Cranberry Festival Parade in 1986-87. Susie graduated from Tomah High School in 1989. Susie was fortunate enough over the years in her employment to be able to work with children as well as the elderly.
She greatly enjoyed several performances in the Tomah Area Community Theatre; and had a real love for country music, and especially those times she was able to spend singing with local bands. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
More than anything, Susie enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends, especially when they went camping together. She will be dearly missed by many.
She is survived by her loving husband, Delbert; her dad, Jerry Felker; her brother, Todd Felker; her aunts, Delia (Wayne) Duncan, and Barb and Katie Felker; her special pet, Millie; along with many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Elaine; brother-in-law, Ronald Gerke; sister-in-law, Karen (Milton) Rice; father-in-law, Doryl Gerke; mother-in-law, Ruth Gerke; along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017, 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tomah. The Pastors of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date.
