February 20, 1937—March 5, 2019
ST. MARY’S RIDGE - Yvonne Mack, 82, of St. Mary’s Ridge, rural Norwalk, WI, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, WI.
Yvonne was born in Monroe County on the family farm to Norbert and Elaine Hyatt, on February 20, 1937. She graduated from Norwalk High School. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Ormand “Ormie” Mack on September 1, 1956.
She first worked as a bookkeeper at Sparta Motors. Later, Yvonne earned her CNA degree and worked at the Sparta Hospital, later at Time For Ease Care Center. She also owned and operated her own upholstery business out of her home. Yvonne worked a variety of jobs and helped on the farm.
She was a very talented lady who spent many hours sewing for her family. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, baking and going fishing; but what she loved the most was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was devoted to her husband and had an amazing strong faith. Ormie and Yvonne were married 60 years before his passing in 2016.
Yvonne and Ormie were faithful and dedicated members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They were both hard working custodians here. To them this was a labor of love that they had for their church and to their faith.
Yvonne is survived by her 8 children, David (Donna), Bob, Dennis (Penny), Russell (Doris), Phil (Nancy), Amy (Dan) Tesar, Deonne (Marvin) Poff, and Holly (Rich) Getter; 18 grandkids; 17 great-grandkids; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Judy (Bob) VanKirk and Carol (Jim) Vieth; brother, Jim (Betsy) Hyatt; sisters-in-law, Judy Hyatt and Joan Nevin; brothers-in-law, Rich Flock, and James (Barb) Mack; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ormie, in 2016; brothers, Reginald (Diane) Hyatt, and Roger Hyatt; and her sister, Rose Flock.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church on St. Mary’s Ridge. Father Michael Klos will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
